The following students have been nominated as Students of the Month for February. Keep up the good work students!
Zhana Clary (Freshman Class): Zhana is an absolute rockstar when it comes to positivity, hard work, dedication, and lifting others up. You cannot have a bad day when you are around her. She goes above and beyond the class and Pep squad expectations, and I am very proud to be her teacher! Zhana is also the newest member to the Coffee club and participates in JROTC. Ms Clary is a very giving and dependable kid. You can always trust what she says and know she will always complete a task assigned to her. In a day where most kids seem to be out for themselves, she truly thinks of others before herself. She is loyal, trustworthy and has great integrity.
Jamaya Shaw (Sophomore Class): Jamaya has shown tremendous growth in her drive, dedication, and work ethic from last year to this year. She is very respectful and represents herself and peers well in and outside of class. This is her first year in Pep Squad, she is dedicated to her performances and practices, and stays on top of her communication and schedule. I am very happy with the progress I have seen in this young lady!
Cristy Perez (Junior Class): A top student academically in the junior class, Cristy strives for excellence in many ways. She stars as a member of the Varsity Soccer team as one of the hardest workers. Her persistence has helped lead the team to recent lopsided wins and shut outs of the opposition. Cristy is a conscientious, hardworking determined student who uses her self disciplined character in everything she participates in. Anticipating a medical career she is very careful to do her assignments correctly. She works extremely hard and overcame a serious knee injury last year to become one of the top varsity soccer players this year.
Samuel Antonio (Senior Class): Samuel is all around a great student. Head Drum Major of the Marching band and state qualifier for UIL Solo and Ensemble Festival. Samuel is enthusiastic in class, works to understand and produce excellent lab work, and helps keep others on track. Samuel is very respectful in the hallways and is in the top of his class with his academics. Sam has demonstrated high levels of responsibility and motivation while attending Tyler High. Sam has an unprecedented work ethic, enthusiasm, & has the kindest heart! Sam is an excellent candidate for student of the month!
