MaKayla Nelson, Freshman
Not only is Makayla one of the most kind and respectful
students to attend Tyler High School, she is also an
outstanding student who is always eager to give 100% to
her work. Makayla is a wonderful team player, who
works well with her classmates and is always ready to
lend a hand when needed. She always greets others with
a beautiful smile that lights up any room!
Leslie Torres, Sophomore
Leslie is an impressive student with a great work ethic.
She’s always willing to help others without complaint.
She's a sensible voice of reason among her peers and
classmates. She's has a wonderful sense of humor and
self. Leslie is a joy to have in class! She has a kind heart
and a positive attitude. She is diligent in turning in her
assignments in a timely manner. She is also always eager
to help other students who may be struggling in class.
Students like Leslie are the reason we are educators!
LaDasia Day, Junior
LaDasia is a Junior and has been active in ROTC for the
last 3 years, Lion Guard for the past two years, FFA her
Freshman year, Young Life for three years and her
Freshman and Sophomore years she was a member of
Young Black and Gifted. Her plan after high school is
to be active in the medical field as either a nurse or
Orthopedic surgeon. LaDasia is always supportive to her
peers and helpful to the adults on campus. She works
very hard to complete her assignments and she also
advocates well with teachers when needing help.
Tacorey Gilliam, Senior
Tacorey Gilliam is a true definition of taking on
challenges and coming out on top. Mr. Gilliam has faced
many challenges which could have easily distracted him
from his goals but he stood tall and made the right
decisions. He does excellent in his classes and is on
varsity football and basketball. Mr. Gilliam is well
respected by his teammates and peers. He always gives a
helping hand and is very respectful. His smile is
contagious and he brings laughter to anyone he meets
