Dressed in their cozy pajamas, Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School hosted Polar Express Day. Filled with excitement of the upcoming break, students participated in activities that surrounded The Polar Express. Middle school students even participated in the fun by decorating cookies in the science lab and having cocoa and cookies with friends. From classroom activities to cocoa and cookies in the library, students celebrated their last day in class until January 3, 2024.
"Polar Express Day" is a tradition, particularly in the United States, and it is often associated with celebrating the holiday season. The inspiration for this event comes from the popular children's book "The Polar Express" written by Chris Van Allsburg. In many schools, the celebration typically includes various activities related to the book and its themes. Some schools even show a screening of the popular animation movie "The Polar Express."
Birdwell wanted to send students off for the holidays with a tradition that has proven to be popular and to reward them for finishing their first semester of the school year.
