At Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School, Mrs. Esparza's AVID students are taking an innovative approach to classroom norms. Using the acronym "WATCH ME GROW," they collaboratively established guidelines to promote personal and academic growth throughout the school year.
The AVID program, known for preparing students for college and career readiness, emphasizes organization, study skills, and critical thinking. This year, Mrs. Esparza challenged her students to define their own classroom environment. The acronym "WATCH ME GROW" stood for "Work together, All A's, Take notes, Come to school, Have good behavior, Make good choices, Evaluate your work, Gather notes, Respect everyone, Organize your learning, and Work Efficiently."
Students engaged in discussions to identify what each phrase meant to them and how they could incorporate these principles into their daily routines.
Birdwell's AVID students are ready to embrace their class motto, embodying the spirit of "WATCH ME GROW" as they strive for excellence in both their academic and personal development.
