January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. According to the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work, there are more than 300,000 victims of human trafficking in Texas, including almost 79,000 minors and youth. Some red flags to be aware of as we work with students are branding or tattoos, unexplained injuries, hotel keys, rolls of cash, multiple phones, claims of a much older boyfriend or girlfriend, receiving expensive gifts for no reason from this older boyfriend or girlfriend. If you have any concerns about a student, always feel free to talk with Mrs. Standifer. Thank you for helping keep our kids safe!
Check your email for how you can both help ECHS AND get a great tasting burrito! :)

ECHS Parents and Students:
We still have around 60 students with chocolate money out! Please bring it in! We need it in order to plan for more enjoyable events at YOUR school! We are counting on you! Any money not brought in will go on your account and prevent graduation. Also, if you are eligible to be exempted from a Final, failure to turn in your money will result in your not longer being exempt (this is for Sophomores - Seniors only). Thank you for understanding and for bringing in your money!

ECHS Students - the Booster Club will be selling snacks after school every Friday so don't forget to bring cash tomorrow!
Students,
Please remember if you are interested in participating in the Rose City Book Battle in April, come to the library during advisory today for a quick meeting! If you are a junior or senior that is interested, but you are at TJC today, please stop by Mrs. Powell's room tomorrow and get the information you missed. Thanks!
Hey everyone,
Please make sure you completely read the first email about National English Honor Society. The list at the end of the email with names in green are the people who were accepted into NEHS. Congratulations! Please also remember to email Mrs. Powell if your name is incorrect on the list. Thanks!
Students,
If you didn't apply for the English Honor Society, ignore the last 2 messages! If you did, check them, they tell who got in and we need to make sure your name is spelled correctly!
Thank you!
