Students got hands-on experience identifying metals, non-metals, and metalloids today in Mr. Thompson’s 6th grade Science class! It was great to see their “lightbulbs” come on, both literally and figuratively. This lab really helped them internalize conductivity, malleability, and luster! Go Huskies! 🧡🐾




Tyler PD came by to talk about their cadet program and what it takes to be a Police officer. Students participated in safety scenarios and fitness requirements. Husky Cross Country returned from District Middle School Championships with medals aplenty! Congratulations to all the XC runners for a great season filled with personal records and tons of miles.


AVID Tutorials are back in full swing. Students complete a Tutorial Request Form (TRF) over a problem they are confused. Their student peers then ask guiding questions to help lead their Student Presenter to understanding! This Socratic method ensures student learning, retention, and repetition is happening! Our Huskies had a fun Friday in College and Career Readiness with Mrs. Studinka! Construction Managers from Tyler ISD came to share their personal experiences with high school & college pathways that included Construction Science, Engineering, and Architecture! Go Huskies! 🧡

To kick off “It Starts With Hello” week, students in Mrs. Modesitt’s advisory class wrote down some ideas for how you make new friends! We think they’re on the right track, and we love how our students are looking for ways to be welcoming to others! Go Huskies! 🧡


Students in Mrs. Graham’s 8th grade RLA class are learning from each other by participating in a Jigsaw and taking notes from each expert on a topic! They say the highest form of learning is teaching, and our Huskies are some great teachers!! Go Huskies! 🧡




VR week in Ms. Studinka class! Students get to experience and train in skilled trades that include everything from automotive, hospitality, and manufacturing jobs!
