The Tyler HS JROTC Department held the 1st Quarter Awards Ceremony for school year 2022-23. Select students were recognized for their personal achievements while serving as a JROTC Cadets. Promotions were also presented during the ceremony as well as top performers. Categories and recipients were as follows:
1 student was promoted to Sergeant First Class Promotion: Is awarded to a cadet who continuously demonstrates leadership and potential for increased responsibility. This Cadet has also attended the promotion board. The cadet being promoted to Sergeant First Class is:
1 student was promoted to Corporal: Is awarded to a cadet who continuously demonstrates leadership and potential for increased responsibility. This Cadet has also attended the promotion board. The cadet being promoted to Corporal is:
2 students earned Private First Class: Is awarded to a cadet who continuously demonstrates leadership and potential for increased responsibility. These Cadets have also attended the promotion board. The cadet being promoted to Private First Class is:
9 students earned The Perfect Attendance (N-1-4): This ribbon is awarded to cadets with no unexcused absences during each quarter.
30 students earned Citizenship Ribbon (N-1-10): This ribbon is awarded to cadets who are presented in recognition of Cadet participation, superior performance, and achievement in attaining award requirements. (No ISS visits)
4 students earned Superior Academic Achievement (N-1-7): This award to the cadets who maintaining the highest GPA for the First Nine weeks.
1 student earned The Recruiting Ribbon (N-4-2): This ribbon is awarded to cadets who have successfully recruited two cadets into the program.
1 student earned Cadet of the Month (N-4-3): The Cadet of the Month recognizes cadets for displaying leadership and excellence within the JROTC Battalion.
4 students earned Commendation (N-3-9): This ribbon is Awarded to cadets whose performance of duty exceptionally exceeds that expected of a cadet of his grade and experience, determined by the Senior Army Instructor.

Congratulations to our PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP honorees!!!!! 49 students have received a "full ride" to go to TJC in fall. We are honored to have such a great group of students at Tyler High School. Thank to all the parents and staff for supporting these future leaders. A special shout out to TJC for this amazing opportunity.

Tyler High Science Glows ! Teacher are implementing student investigations in science with state requirements of at least 40% of instructional time, using safe, environmentally appropriate, and ethical practices. Teachers and students are off to a great start with investigations and analyzing data.
Both JV and Varsity teams fought a hard battle tonight but ended up losing to Spring Hill.
