Second grade Rice Rangers have been investigating the life cycle of insects. They witnessed caterpillars form chrysalises and then turn into beautiful butterflies in their very own classroom. Today, they released them into their natural environment so they can continue their normal life cycle. We hope to see some of them flying around campus!

Once upon a time in a faraway land, also known as Pre-K, the youngest rangers you’ve ever seen read enchanting fairytale stories. These rangers completed several STEM challenges like building bridges strong enough for the Three Bill Goats Gruff, making Rapunzel’s tower out of cubes, and stacking tubes and paper to create Jack’s beanstalk.

This week our Pre-K rangers observed how objects around them move. They notice how pushes and pulls can make things go, stop, speed up, slow down, or change direction. They were challenged to create their own ramps and to find objects in their home environment that requires the force of pushing/pulling.
