Pre-K has been having SNOW much fun learning about winter, as they compare and contrast characters from narratives, and arctic animals from informational text. They even made a snowman and watched him melt like βSneezy the Snowman.β

Our Pre-K had a Grinchy day today! We played minute-to-win-it games, made Grinch tree ornaments , and had Grinch snacks. Our favorite was racing to make each other into Grinch and playing a Grinch tree cup stacking gameπ

Break me off a PIZZA that! Rice second graders have been exploring fractions this week. They worked in pairs to cut pizzas into equal fractional parts using real-world situations.

Rice Radio kicked off our Ranger Reindeer Games today with βName that Holiday Tuneβ. Each lucky caller was able to select a gift donated by a local business and there will be more to come now through the end of the semester!

Rice has some major TEA to spill!! We won HTeaOβs Facebook contest and received 8 gallons of their tea to treat our teachers with tomorrow! Thank you HTeaO and everyone who voted for us!


Our 5th grade students are having a FUN FRIYAY completing a fraction lab today. They are representing and solving addition and subtraction of fractions with unequal denominators using some tasty models. Way to go Rangers!





Introducing Timber! These second grade Rangers saved trash for two weeks while learning all about recycling. Then, they used those materials to build their robot.



Our little Pre-K turkeys have been busy and thankful this week! They ended the week by showing their appreciation of each other with a βCharlie Brownβs Thanksgiving.β

Welcome to the Rice Ranger Thanksgiving Day Parade! Second grade students read and learned about the true story of Tony Sarg who made the first parade balloons for the Macyβs Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then, they created their very own balloons and hosted a parade in their hallway.
