We're kicking off Read-A-Thon! What a great morning with all our favorite Read-A-Thon characters. We even had a visit from the Hubbard Husky cheerleaders and Brutus, a Therapet boxer! Pre-K had an apple-solutely great week learning about apples! From reading narrative and informational texts, to apple art crafts, to apple STEM activities, and to tasting delicious apples!
Our Rangers in third grade have been practicing read to self and technology stations. Small group instruction like this provides opportunities for flexible and differentiated learning.

Pre-K has had a GROOVY first week learning what it takes to be a Rice Ranger. They also ended their first week by going on an adventure with Pete the Cat around the campus!

Pre-K had such an AYE -mazing pirate day today! We made our own pirate ships, hunted for treasure and had a cannonball war against the enemy ship!
The Rice Ranger Choir had a blast today singing for 4 different assisted living homes in Tyler. Then we ended the day with some CiCi’s Pizza! They represented Rice well!
Second grade Rice Rangers have been investigating the life cycle of insects. They witnessed caterpillars form chrysalises and then turn into beautiful butterflies in their very own classroom. Today, they released them into their natural environment so they can continue their normal life cycle. We hope to see some of them flying around campus!
Our Pre-K Rangers have traveled to space to explore this week and used their problem-solving and STEM skills to help them return home! They have been “ROCK(n)ET” learning about day and night and space.🚀🌠
To celebrate Earth Day, our Pre-K Rangers learned about ways to care for Earth. They learned how to grow and care for plants. Using the STEM cycle, they worked together in teams to design ways to repurpose a box.
