Our Pre-K had a Grinchy day today! We played minute-to-win-it games, made Grinch tree ornaments , and had Grinch snacks. Our favorite was racing to make each other into Grinch and playing a Grinch tree cup stacking game🎄

Break me off a PIZZA that! Rice second graders have been exploring fractions this week. They worked in pairs to cut pizzas into equal fractional parts using real-world situations.

Rice Radio kicked off our Ranger Reindeer Games today with “Name that Holiday Tune”. Each lucky caller was able to select a gift donated by a local business and there will be more to come now through the end of the semester!

Our 5th grade students are having a FUN FRIYAY completing a fraction lab today. They are representing and solving addition and subtraction of fractions with unequal denominators using some tasty models. Way to go Rangers!
Introducing Timber! These second grade Rangers saved trash for two weeks while learning all about recycling. Then, they used those materials to build their robot.
Our little Pre-K turkeys have been busy and thankful this week! They ended the week by showing their appreciation of each other with a “Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving.”

Welcome to the Rice Ranger Thanksgiving Day Parade! Second grade students read and learned about the true story of Tony Sarg who made the first parade balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then, they created their very own balloons and hosted a parade in their hallway.
Second grade Rice Rangers were voters today by taking part in the Great Cookie Election. Students campaigned for their candidate, took a trip to the voting booth to cast their vote, and graphed the results. It was a close race between Oreo and Chocolate Chip, but ultimately Oreo won the election!
Rice Rangers dressed as their future careers today in preparation for our Career Night tonight from 5:30-7:00. Make plans to join us later for a fun evening exploring hands on careers.
